This is actually the greatest flavor of quest bar that I’ve really tried. It’s also quite the chewiest if you ever had a real brownie before. I’d rank this one protein bar as one of the top five most tasty nutrition bars out there. Does it tastes as great as say… a real piece of strawberry cheesecake?
Of course not, but hey if you believed you wanted more cheesecake in your life, you likely would not be looking at wellness bars!
What sets this bar apart aside from the flavor is the nutritional profile. Even when compared with other Quest bars, it’s astounding. *Just* 5 grams of fat?
Now for people preventing sugar alcohols (SA), not all quest bars include SA. Many people find it gives them a bloating/gas-like feeling in their stomachs. I believe it helps me stay full longer and enhances the flavor/feel so 6 grams is just great enough.
Here is a thought experiment where I binge eat on too many of these protein bars:
Imagine if I ate 3 of these delicious suckers and over indulged? Would my diet be ruined for that day? … Let’s see.
Fat total of 15 grams. Not amazing but still quite low considering how many calories and protein I just had now. Plus most of it comes from almonds, which has mostly good fats and not the unhealthy omega-6 fats.
Fiber 51 grams. Perhaps a little overboard but you will only eat less thereafter so fiber keeps you on course for the day like nothing else.
Net impact carbs of only 6 grams. If you’re diabetic or worried about it, no worries here!
In the event you are still reading this… the reply is yes. After getting my first order of these from online, I simply ate 3 bars. I didn’t have lunch that day since I had to repair my air conditioner with the repair guy.
Its my 5th flavor of quest bars I am going to most likely be purchasing except this flavor sometimes is sold out everywhere. Maybe the ingredients become too expensive for Quest to procure and such. As long as I don’t eat the same flavors, I shouldn’t get sick of eating these when dieting in moderation.
I know an active PHD student who works out but he went into the Vitamin Shoppe one day and the sales representative introduced him to these bars. He was very grateful and hasn’t looked back since. Quest is still his favorite brand over CLif and MetRx.
I use to buy protein powders that were very “natural” but it caused tummy aches from either the preservatives or maltitol. I needed something that I could eat on the run or really could throw in a backpack that wouldn’t cause me bladder issues. Thankfully, I was thrilled with yet another great selection of Quest protein bars. They can be sweetened with stevia and have an extremely brief ingredient list that is essentially natural flavors, sugar alcohols, whey protein powder, and salt.
This minimizes the amount of processing this food has and thus is about as healthy to home-cooking as you can get. Which is great for your health and diet.
I used to believe that the outstanding line of protein bars from Quest Nutrition couldn’t possibly get any better, but with their latest ‘All Natural’ line, the quality of their products have gone through the roof.
With their ‘All Natural’ line, Sucralose is removed and replaced with Erythritol and Stevia, each of which are ACTUAL sugar substitutes seen in plants and fruits. Erythritol is in fact one of the few sweeteners to get a GI (Glycemic Index) of ZERO.
Now, for the flavor: I am a huge sucker for anything called “chocolate brownies” and all the remorse that comes with eating such a thing. I feel after having my favorite meal that I need to go work off some of the calories I just put on. Thankfully, because these chocolate brownie protein bars are so light, calorie and sugar/carbs wise, I can work out very casually. This might mean a brisk walk or a few minutes on an elliptical machine.
I am also happy to mention that Quest uses soluble prebiotic fiber inside of their bars. Soluble fiber restores healthy gut flora in your belly, raises and stabilizes blood sugar, lowers LDL, HDL, and a myriad of other health benefits. Quest truly knows how to make healthy food for those on the go.
You can buy these amazing Quest bars for cheap at Amazon here because it’s usually got the best prices online.
