I committed myself to slimming down. I found these bars at Costco (sadly, they no longer take/sell them anywhere). I eat one for breakfast daily. In addition, I bring a group of these protein bars with me so I do not have to eat junk food on planes etc. when I’m travelling. All of these ThinkThin bars are not so empty and big in comparison with other nutrition bars. I really like they are also gluten free. They do taste as if it’s a candy bar – that is the best part! I do not feel like I ‘m dieting. I tend to mix these up with eating the Brownie Crunch flavors to mix it up the tastes as this is my favorite ThinkThin flavor. You won’t be let down! They are loved by mostly everyone!
So, here’s the breakdown of Chunky Peanut Butter:
I’ll begin with what EVERYONE truly cares about: FLAVOR! These bars tasted unbelievable to me. Rich, heavy, dark chocolate, chewy consistency, NO chemical flavor, sweet but not overly sweet. I read the ingredient list as well as the nutritional profile, and I’m truly pleased with the ingredient quality. This really is what brought me to the merchandise. It’s relatively gluten free and sugar free. The carb grams come mostly from sugar alcohols which doesn’t convert to fat but can make you feel a little gassy if you eat too many.
This really is very good for all those of you that want to lose weight fast. On the flip side, it has a fairly substantial amount of good fat content. So know about that when including these in your diet plan because eat too many of these and YOU ARE GOING TO gain weight! The protein is superb, however, at 20 grams a bar, as much as a tiny chicken breast. This can replace chicken breast in terms of food content. The sodium is not too terrible at 125 milligrams (MG).
Aside from being a bit high on the calories side for being a health bar, one of these can easily be eaten as a meal replacement when you’re on the go. It’s best to eat these if your job is a little more physically demanding to burn off the extra calories. I recommend breaking these in half and saving the other half for when you get the “munchies” again later. This way, in the event that you do get hungry again, these bars act like “mini-meals” that keep you satisfied while not going crazy with hunger and go binge hunting for large meals, which make you get fatter. The strength of these bars is to keep you from getting hungry and its convenience, not in eating a bunch of these all at once.
Unlike most other protein bars however, these ThinkThin nutrition bars generally don’t have a whole lot of fiber, so make sure you eat plants, veggies, fruits, or take a fiber pill for your daily fiber intake. Good news is if you eat one or AT MOST two of these, you won’t go hungry for hours. Perfect for on the go situations and it is difficult to eat more food before lunch or dinner if you pop ones of these bars beforehand.
Final Verdict: SUPERB ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS; YUMMY, DECADENT FLAVOR (as great as a candy bar); SUITABLE PACKAGING; GREAT VITAMIN & MINERAL PROFILE (you will still need to have an all-inclusive multivitamin daily); SUITABLE SOURCE OF PROTEIN; GREAT BITE/TEXTURE ( in case you eat half as a bite or the other half afterwards in the day as a bite.) THE COST IS RIGHT overly based on Amazon’s price vs. in shop pricing on these bars. They can be quite pricey in retail stores, where as online you can get them much cheaper. Oftentimes, up to 50% cheaper depending on your luck.
Do take note though, that the chocolate coating can melt pretty quickly if you store these bars above 70 degress Fahrenheit.
Other than that, these are great and cheap. Much cheaper than CLif or Quest bars.
You can buy ThinkThin High Protein Bars at Amazon because it is much cheaper there.
