Many of these protein bars generally overcompensate and I would have difficulty stomaching anything as sweet as a sweet bar. The taste is spot on, like I’m consuming an Andes mint but in a protein bar kind of way. Throughout the day I’ve delighted in utilizing the Clif builder’s nutrition bars to get protein in on the go and I’ll absolutely be continuing my membership to this brand of health bars.
I can get them at Stop & Shop but I do tend not go there as it’s very far from where I live. I changed to getting 2 boxes every month online and I love not having to worry about running out of protein bars to eat and then have the hassle of making a grocery trip.
Clif Builder’s mint chocolate is still a protein bar so it’s not super soft like a sweet bar however I happily eat this as a snack if I have absolutely nothing else to devour and I look forward to consuming these every morning. I purchased a carton and I am tossing out some of my other bars to my neighbors (the thinkThin old chocolate strawberry bars are not my good tasting to me so giving them away). A friend of mine recently had gotten braces put on their teeth, so they know blend up one of these bars with some almond milk to make a protein chocolate mint drink. It’s surprisingly delicious. My friend’s son takes one of these bars with him to school since his meals sometimes don’t have enough protein so Clif Builder’s can help in a pinch in situations like that too.
The mint in these nutrition bars truly assists in covering any “unusual” protein taste that the majority of bars tend to have. I do not even think this bar has bad taste at all but the mint is still nonetheless a pleasant surprise. I was really shocked how completely full I felt after eating one. It lasted a long time as it’s low glycemic. I eat one now in the morning before I go swim laps at the gym for an hour. By the end, I’m starving but not sick or feeling too famished. I seem like I am able to keep my energy up the whole time, walk, drive, and shower back at the house without having to stop along the way for food. And they actually do taste great!
For some, the Clif Builder’s protein bars are their go-to treat. They are delicious and contain the carbs to keep one going in any physical endeavor. The 20 grams of protein work really well as breakfast substitutes on hectic workdays. As these are 270 calories, Clif likewise offers “snack size” bars which are half the size, but they’re not that economical. Much better to simply eat half of a real bar. I’ve been experimenting with protein powders, drinks and bars. As many people know, many are milky or have a strange after taste or do not make you feel full enough. This is especially true of protein powders.
The taste of mint chocolate ice cream is definitely evident in these health bars. At a grocery store near my local school I began weight training at the gym next door for about a year and a half. This made it really easy to pick up a protein bar after I worked out for the day.
One of the first lessons I learned from working out was to significantly increase my protein consumption. Similar to protein powders, I have actually gone through a lot of brand names and flavors of protein bars that I have actually lost track. A couple of months ago I decided to buy a variety of protein bars from our regional grocery store in singles, taste test them all, and only then choose what to buy in bulk online.
For those interested in the texture and feel of these, the Mint Chocolate chip protein bar is still pretty heavy/dense. However, there is enough chocolate/mint flavor that it doesn’t taste bad at all, although you will chew it for a little bit after you take a bite due to the fact that it is so dense. Filled with protein and a lot of other vitamins/minerals/nutrients, this is a fantastic bar.
I believed the “low glycemic” label was kinda silly at first, but I’ve discovered if I have one of these bars prior to a workout, while I’m out hiking, or even for a healthy protein abundant snack, it will curb my hunger for a surprisingly long time. It would be a number of hours before I’ll get a possibility to eat a good meal and they definitely take a while to absorb and keep me full. It’s a great way to keep myself from binging throughout the day.
You can buy Clif Builder’s chocolate mint protein bars online at Amazon because they are good at keeping you from going hungry if you eat just one or two of these in a meal.
